Safe Deposit Boxes
Get 100 Co-op Points for opening a Safe Deposit Box.
UMassFive now offers Safe Deposit Box rentals at our Hadley Branch, ranging in size from 3" x 5" to 10" x 10". Members can access their boxes during our regular business hours Monday through Saturday. Use a Safe Deposit Box for storing jewelry, important documents or deeds, or even family heirlooms.

Direct Deposit & Payroll Deduction
Get 150 Co-op Points for setting up Direct Deposit.
Direct Deposit of your net pay (gross pay after deductions) is available to our members. Or, if you rather, a specific dollar amount from your paycheck can be deposited through Payroll Deduction. The Credit Union initiates the direct deposit or payroll deduction process for employees of all member institutions, and we can provide the paperwork necessary for direct deposit of payments from the federal government.

Electronic Funds Transfer (Automatic Clearing House)

Authorize a Payment TO a Credit Union Account
Authorize a Payment FROM a Credit Union Account
Your net pay can be deposited from any employer who is a member of the American Banking Association (ABA) EFT routing system. EFT is initiated by your employer. The information your employer will need to process the transfer is:

  • UMassFive's ABA number (2118-8027-1)
  • Your member number (NOT Social Security)
  • Specify the account you would like your net pay deposited (i.e. savings or checking)
  • You will receive a monthly statement describing all EFT activity

NOTE: ACH transfers can take up two weeks after set-up to take effect. For faster transfers, consider Wire Transfers.

In case of error or questions about your electronic funds transfers (ACH debits or credits), contact one of our Representatives. We must hear from you no later than 60 days after you receive your first statement on which the problem or error appeared.

Stop Payments
If you have instructed the Credit Union to make regular payments out of your account, you can stop any of these payments or all future payments. You must contact the Credit Union within at least three (3) business days before the payment is to be made. Your account will be charged a nominal fee. Stop payments can also be placed on checks you have written and have not yet been presented for payment. You will need to know the check number, date it was written, and dollar amount.

Notary Service
If you need signatures witnessed or documents notarized, stop by our Hadley, Worcester, Northampton, or Express branches and a Representative will assist you, free of charge.

Signature Guarantee
UMassFive offers signature guarantees to our members, free of charge.

AlertMe
AlertMe is an optional service that monitors your Credit Bureau file for material changes, such as a new account, that could be the indication of Identity Theft, for a small fee.

Money Gram Money Orders
Money Gram Money Orders up to $1,000.00 are available to members, for a nominal fee.

Cashiers Checks
Cashiers Checks, made payable to a credit union member, are available at no charge. For checks payable to a third party, a nominal fee will be charged.

VISA Travel Money Cards
VISA Travel Money Cards are now available at all branches. Fees do apply, so be sure to ask a UMassFive Representative for more information before purchasing.
