Members who have a share draft (checking account) are eligible to receive a no fee UMassFive VISA Debit Card which will give you access to your savings & checking accounts 24 hours a day. Carrying the VISA logo, it is accepted at millions of merchant locations worldwide. It works like a check anywhere VISA is accepted by automatically withdrawing funds from your share draft account. And best of all, it eliminates the need to carry a checkbook or large amounts of cash.

Our Debit Card also offers the convenience of being an ATM Card. Use it to withdraw cash, transfer funds, or verify balance information at ATM machines displaying the CIRRUS, NYCE and VISA symbols nationwide. And with your Debit Card, all ATM withdrawals and point of sale transactions at non-credit union ATMs are free! (Look for the SUM logo if using another bank's ATM machine to avoid surcharges).

The purchase amount is deducted from available funds, up to your daily limit. Your daily limit is set at $1,000.00 for purchases and $500.00 through ATMs. Keeping track of Debit Card transactions is no more difficult than managing your checkbook. As with a check, you deduct the amount from your account balance when you make the purchase. The place, date and amount of the transaction will appear on your monthly statement.

To report a lost or stolen debit card, please call 800.472.3272 anytime and listen to the menu of options. For international calls, call 973.656.2345.

You will need to have the following information ready when you make your phone call:

  • Date last used
  • Purchase amount
  • The name of the merchant

If your card is stolen be sure to notify your local police.
