MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY
Membership in the UMassFive College Federal Credit Union is extended to employees of the UMass system, Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mt. Holyoke College, and Smith College, as well as persons who belong to certain other occupational or associational groups within our defined field of membership. Family/household members of eligible Credit Union members, retired employees, and UMass Amherst and Amherst College students are also eligible. Policy for Family/Household Membership
To be eligible to join the credit union as a "family member," you must be an immediate family or household member of a primary member, or one that is eligible to join.

The definition of an Immediate Family Member is limited to spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent or grandchild. Step-children, step-parent, and step-siblings are also included in this definition. Household Member is defined as persons living in the same residence who maintain a single economic unit. Included in this definition is any person who is a permanent member of and participates in the maintenance of the household. It also includes two people sharing an apartment, domestic partners, or anyone who lives in the household and has demonstrated a degree of permanency. Legal guardian relationships are considered part of the household definition. However, a fraternity, sorority, or condominium complex would not be considered a single economic unit. Once an immediate family/household member joins, then that person's immediate family/household members become eligible to join.

How To Join
Joining the credit union is easy! To become a member you must complete a Membership Application and purchase at least one share by depositing $5.00 into a share (savings) account. This is not a membership fee. The deposit will earn dividends and can be withdrawn upon closing your account. Upon opening this share account, you will be eligible for all credit union services.
